How To Create Brand Copy That Will Rock Your Business And Attract Your Tribe

If you are part of my Creative Branidsta™ tribe you have heard me talk about the importance of branding. Knowing what you stand for, your core values and what people can expect from you as a business owner. A key element to branding is knowing your target audience like you know your BFF so that you can create content that will speak to her like a long lost kindred spirit. The content that I am referring to is your Brand Copy. The right Brand Copy will not only attract the right people into your life, it will simplify your content creation, copy writing and the way you market your business.

What is Brand Copy?

The easiest way to explain Brand Copy is the language that you use on an intentional, consistent basis to deeply connect with your tribe both offline and online. The beauty of Brand Copy is not only does this language sell more of what you offer but its verbiage that makes total sense to your ideal client deeply attracting and connecting them to YOU. It allows you to speak to their hearts and buying love language in an authentic heart centered way.

So let me break this down for you in a way that you can more personally relate to. Picture the following people in your life and how you would write a paragraph to them describing what you do and what you offer:

• Your mom
• Your sister
• Your best friend
• Oprah
• Queen Elizabeth
• Your dream client

I think we would agree that you would have a different tone, a different style of writing with each person. You would choose vocabulary that makes sense to them. You wouldn't use industry techie jargon with your mom that she would not understand. You would break it down for her in a way that SHE would resonate with. At the same token, you would not be technical but probably more formal when addressing the Queen of England.

With all the time, effort and energy you are putting into your business, one thing is for sure, you are not building The Brand of Boring so the first step to creating your Brand Copy so you can create an authentic brand that highlights your unique values is to pull out all the boring mundane words that every one else in your industry is using.

For example, in my brand and business the phrase "target market" is WAY overused and I don't even like the definition of it. It screams "let me list out qualities of the type of person who will buy my radically cool stuff" and that is not the foundation of a heart centered business. So I created my own term Charismic Client™ because I want to surround myself with women who are bold and have charisma. Who share my beliefs.

The goal is to create copy for your brand that will set you apart while speaking to your ideal client. When you can connect with your tribe in a way that speaks to their soul while conveying the problems that you can solve for them you have whole heartedly set yourself apart in a way that no high dollar, fancy website or graphics could EVER accomplish. This makes you a very valuable asset to your community. There is no greater feeling than to connect with someone who says "Its like I have known you my whole life, you totally get ME!"

SO HOW DOES BRAND COPY ATTRACT YOUR TRIBE?

1. Love Connection. In order to lead your dream client to do business with YOU, there needs to be an emotional connection made. Its not about what we have. Its about WHY we do it.  There are 10,000+ people on the planet that offer the same kind of products and services that you do. Why should they do business with YOU? Consumers spend money when they are inspired, valued and feel supported. You copy needs to not only connect with them but leave them wanting to come back for more of your awesomeness.

2. Consistency. When you know your core values and the needs of your target audience you can consistently write copy for social media, blog posts and your email list that will draw your audience in {attraction marketing}. Consistency builds the #TrustFactor. Trust leads to sales. Without consistency your marketing efforts are all over the place leaving your network highly confused.

3. Simplicity. Knowing what you need to say and how you need to say it makes your job of marketing guru and content creator a whole lot easier. When something becomes effortless it takes less time.  No need to research words to make your copy more exciting. You have a language, words and terms all your own.

Take Action >> Grab a journal and start brainstorming. Think about the buzz words that you use on a daily basis that sets your part. Write about the type of people you love to connect with and why you enjoy their company. What words describe them? What words describe how you feel when you spend time with them. Use this process to start crafting your own unique Brand Copy that will be memorable.

If you are serious about growing your business and brand, take the time to analyze your copy. You can have the most clever marketing and social media strategy on the planet but without language that attracts an audience to YOU, you are left with trying to use desperate sleazy sales jargon to push your message out into the universe hoping the right people will see it and connect with it. You can take one look at your Facebook newsfeed and see how well that strategy is NOT working out for well intentioned people who seem completely lost with how to market themselves.

Do you have a whole new perspective on the copy you write for your brand? I would love to hear from you so leave me a comment. Know someone who could benefit? I would be so honored for you to pass this blog post on. xo
